Customers’ Appreciation

Paper Exploits creates original items of distinct quality, and delivers everything with personable service– but don’t just take my word for it! Start with this post which explains why I love what I do.

Here are some excerpts of follow-up notes of thanks and appreciation from my customers:

  • “I am brand new to Etsy, and was confused about how to order. Kelly very quickly responded to my convo, helped me figure out what to do, and fixed everything with the cheeriest emails I’ve gotten in a long time. She shepherded me through the process from a distance, and has made the first Etsy experience I’ve had wonderful.” — Amy, USA, December 2010
  • “I love how [Kelly] actually takes time to write a note to show appreciation to her customers. That’s what I call excellent service. It’s personable and sincere and it because of this, she’s had loads of repeat customers. Oh and what’s awesome on top of all that? A 10% discount code for your next purchase and not only that. But the 10% discount code also applies to a friend that you recommend! Referrals. What a brilliant biz strategy if I do say so myself.” — Carol, Singapore, December 2010
  • “I gave the note cards to my professors and friends this week. They were surprised to see what’s inside the cotton envelopes and really love the cards! I suggested that the cards could be used as bookmarks too, which some of them did! :)” — Peck Gee, USA, November 2010
  • “I honestly am very pleased with all your creations and it’s really all so great!” — Bernadette, Singapore, November 2010
  • “It’s beautiful! is the banner taken under the white lighting strung across fairly accurate in colour? If so, that is EXACTLY the shade of blue green I love.” — Laureen, Singapore, November 2010
  • “He loved it (: He gasped when he saw the typewritten words and spent more time looking at them, recollecting memories, than at the note i wrote for him on the flipside :p Thanks Kelly! :D” — Chiew Mei, Singapore, November 2010
  • “Hi Kelly, I received the cards in the mail yesterday, they’re BEAUTIFUL I’m so pleased (: Thank you so much!! And thank you for all the additional sweet gestures like the dinosaur card and handwritten note as well, perfect (: It’s been such a joy ordering from you and rest assured I will recommend your shop to my friends with absolutely no reservation.” — JX, Singapore, August 2010
  • “Dear Kelly, THEY’RE AWESOME! Hahaha. Nicest cards ever lahhhhhh. You got me a golden ticket!! Wooohoooo! … Haha can’t wait to find them in my mail. You’re the best lahhh woooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooo  =D” — TW, Singapore, August 2010 (This one makes me laugh out loud!)

I purchased a v-day card and bookmark from Paper Exploits recently.

Kelly was very helpful in personalizing my order. She made sure that what I wanted was added while also making sure that it matched the theme of the whole item.

Service was prompt and pleasant. I can really tell that Kelly was excited about my order and tried very hard to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted. I was also pleasant to find a discount code in the envelope for my next order.

One thing that surprised me was the size of the card and bookmark. My advice to customers is to check the measurements against a ruler so you can really get a good idea of the size of each item.

Overall I was pleased with my purchase and the service provided.
I will definitely buy more goodies from Paper Exploits in the near future!

Thanks for your review, Ming Yan! I’m glad to hear that everything worked out well!

With reference to the size, I am sorry that you were caught off guard. I am thinking of a better way to let customers know exactly how big/small each item is. I have been taking close-up shots which enables a clearer view of the details, but I can definitely see how these make the items seem bigger. I’m thinking of putting in a ten-cent coin to act as a gauge– do you think this would help? I’d be happy to hear your thoughts!

As a side-note, I have also added a new section in my FAQ that details why my items tend to hinge on the smaller side of things. Perhaps that might interest you as well.

      Thanks again!

I bought a couple of bookmarks from Kelly’s Valentine’s day collection; service was excellent! (Kelly got them done for me over a weekend, and waited patiently for me to pick them up on monday.. [i was late]). the discount coupon and the little personal note were nice touches as well :) even the envelope was a little work of art.

Am well pleased with the purchases–i’d liked what i saw on the website, but the bookmarks were much finer seen in person. i’m very much looking forward to the display booth in NUS, when it comes.

ps: the girlfriend likes them very much.

Jeremy! Thanks for your comment! I am glad that your girlfriend likes them, and am happy to know that you noticed the little bits too! :] I’ll be glad for you to stop by the booth– will keep you posted!

I bought a couple of circle taggies from the v’day collection and i absolutely love ‘em! And because i needed them the next day, Kelly rushed them out for me the night before and despite the really short notice, the items were perfectly handcrafted and they came in this cute little envelope with the paperexploits stamp on it. Its the little personal details that’s gonna keep me coming back. Love no, LOVE kelly’s creations and her excellent service (she even follows up after to ask if you like it and gives you a 10% discount for you AND your friend. how cool is that?) Yes. i will definitely be stopping by the booth. Already wrote it down on my calendar :)

Carol! What a succinct narrative, with a beginning, end, and even micro-narratives. ;] I’m so happy that it was a great experience for you, and of course I’m looking forward to having you get more paper lovin’! :]

  4. Claryce February 14, 2010 at 15:42 #

Thanks for the sweet bookmarks Kelly! I ordered 3 ice-cream bookmarks + a cherry cherry boom boom bookmark (mmmm) all of which I wanted to keep to myself hahaha! Unfortunately, I gave them all away (recipients loved them of course) except for the lonely boom boom one that sits by itself on my desk.

I’ve placed an order for even more bookmarks! I’d like to keep some, and to let the others roam the world to spread paper joy! loving your style and the extremely affordable prices wow. I’ve also grown to love the petite sizes, it’s really sweet.

Much love, and I’ll definitely drop by in March! :D

    • Paper Exploits February 15, 2010 at 14:26 #

    Hi Kelly!

Thanks for the on-time delivery of the card and bookmark! The card was smaller than I had actually expected it to be, but it was CUTE.. haha..
And I like the material of the card.. Recycled and acid-free.. Good job you!

Yeap yeap.. Hope your business continues to grow~!

Kel has always been super efficient with everything she does, so I knew my order was in the best of hands! Plus all the doodling on notes has clearly paid off, and in more than the metaphorical sense (; LOVEEEEE the bookmarks, notelets and cards i bought – but especially loved the little note and the unexpected polka-dot envelope my order came in. I agree with everyone else, the details matter! And the heart that goes into every single piece is perhaps the best part of this.

Love ya Kel, will definitely continue to support this! Whoot! ((:

p.s: i even got a free bookmark so I don’t feel so sad I have to give everything else away hehe.

    • Paper Exploits April 21, 2010 at 01:36 #

Aww Liz that is such a sweet review! Thanks so much for taking the time to write that out– I’m glad you liked your purchase and your little free Awkward Owl bookmark! :] Now you can give all that away and still have some Paper Exploits lovin’ to yourself. :]

  8. Dan April 23, 2010 at 01:28 #

i was one of the many who exploited the $20 20% discount at the March booth, and helped myself to Rebecca the Monster and Birdcage cards, Awkward Owls, Doublescoop, and Bride & Groom bookmarks. i’m extremely satisfied with my purchase, what i liked most about it is that all feels so personalised, right down to your name on the perforated envelope that your order comes in. the birthday girl (and boy) that received the Rebecca the Monster card loved it too, they couldn’t stop shaking her eye around! kelly was really professional too, my order was ready for collection earlier than i expected.

my only suggestion and i think i’m not the only one in this, is that i would love to see bigger-sized cards and bookmarks. small is cute, but bigger is better! nevertheless, i would strongly recommend paper exploit products to anyone who wishes to own a piece of childlike wonder! looking forward to my next purchase.

Thank you for your review + suggestions, Dan– am definitely working on it! I’m glad that your giftees liked the Rebecca card and that the googly eye provided some glee :] Looking forward to your next purchase? As am I :]

Chanced upon the Paper Exploits booth at a random NUS bazaar and I STOPPED DEAD IN MY TRACKS. The booth layout was fantastic, really. Ordered a few mini cards and a bigger one.

Kelly was genuinely concerned about customer needs and offered to deliver them even during the project/report submission week if I wanted them for an urgent event. Email updates were timely and personal, haha, I enjoyed reading them :D My friends love the cards, and I adore the free bookmark right down to the last ribbon thread.

Hope your exams went well! (: May your business grow and grow.

    • Paper Exploits May 15, 2010 at 01:49 #

Rina your review was such a joy to read, thank you! I’m glad you had fun shopping with Paper Exploits, and that your friends were pleased with their cards/mini-cards! :] I hope your little Awkward Owl is nestled somewhere happily, and not getting into too much trouble. :]

  10. Letitia May 27, 2010 at 10:04 #

My initial impression was that this site wasn’t as user-friendly as most blogs I visited. But all the extra clicks were worth it. My favourite thing about shopping with Paper Exploits is how personal everything is – from kelly’s sincerity (it is very refreshing to be actually addressed by my name and not “babe”), voluntary rush orders, to my very awesome customized order. In restrospect, seiving through all the stories and entries makes sense because they represent Paper Exploits, in my opinion. Thanks again for everything! Can’t wait to make my next order:)

    • Paper Exploits May 30, 2010 at 04:09 #

Thank you for your sweet review, Letitia! Perhaps the personalization of Paper Exploits is rubbing off, with such a detailed and ‘made-to-order’ review (vs. ‘great seller, thanks!’)? :] I’ve followed up with you via e-mail as well regarding your thoughts, so thanks so much. Let’s see if Etsy makes this more user-friendly, while keeping the blog up and free for story-telling :] Thanks again!

  11. Debbie June 10, 2010 at 23:18 #

This is way overdue but here goes! Kelly is an old primary school friend of mine and we lost touch for years before I found Paper Exploits! Love the adorable designs :) I only saw the Owl bookmarks a couple of days before my friends were leaving singapore and I had an impulse to give them as farewell gifts. It was during the Chinese New Year holidays and I thought it would be too rushed for Kelly to get them out to me. She, however, in spite of the festivities and busyness, was able to make some on such short notice and meet up to pass them to me. I really appreciated her promptness and willingness to accommodate me.

Kelly I’m so happy and proud of you for starting Paper Exploits! Continue the great work and looking forward to seeing more wonderful designs! :)

    • Paper Exploits June 11, 2010 at 19:17 #

Thanks for leaving your review, Debbie, I appreciate it :] I love the fact that you saw the owls and thought of your friends immediately– it was definitely a pleasure to get them into your eager hands and then into theirs. Thanks also for the well wishes! It’s always nice to know that people are keeping their eyes peeled for more… :] <3
